Ten trillion dollars nobody earned
In 2025 the world lost ten trillion dollars – 9 per cent of annual global output.
It was not stolen. It did not burn down. No flood swept it away. It simply was not done.
According to Gallup’s 2026 report, 20 per cent of the world’s employees are engaged. That is the lowest figure in five years. Among managers it is 22 – 9 points less than in 2022.
In other words, it was not the employees who tired first.
The ten trillion dollars is still around, by the way. It sits in meetings, nodding.
