The three basic human abilities

The three basic human abilities is a concept encompassing horizontal competencies: thinking, communication and action.

The concept in brief

  1. The three basic human abilities – thinking, communication and action – are the foundation of individual competence development. Before any other competence development, these need to be working in balance within the individual.

  2. Harmony between the three basic abilities is the basis of balance and authenticity. When this harmony breaks down, the result is corruption, i.e. deterioration arising from deviation, since words diverge from thoughts, and actions from words.

  3. When drawing up an individual development plan, the competencies to be acquired can be grouped according to these three basic abilities.

  4. The synergy test gives feedback on how dominant each of the three basic human abilities is in a given person. The relative dominance of the abilities may vary depending on the job.

  5. The aim is for synergy to arise in everyone through the harmony of the three basic abilities; this is how synergy can also be created in the organisation.
