The mental processing cycle

A possible coping strategy for processing information. As a method, the mental processing cycle supports raising awareness and the proper inflow and outflow of information.

The concept in brief

  1. Mental processing is a cognitive process that helps us understand how an individual is able to filter and process the information that reaches them.

  2. The method builds on raising awareness and on self-reflection, and supports the processing of mistakes, information, events and feedback.

  3. The stages of the processing cycle are: letting in, digesting, integrating, using, developing further, innovating, flow.

  4. Mental processing is an individual process: each person goes through the stages in a different way and at a different pace, so applying it calls for strong self-reflection.

  5. The strategic aim of applying the method is to bring the processing cycle consciously to the level of flow, i.e. to keep it running without stopping.
