Defining identity in 17 steps

The model contains, as completely as possible, all the points and questions which, once thought through and answered, allow the identity of an organisation to be defined, analysed and built.

The concept in brief

  1. Using the model gives employees a shared set of concepts relating to identity.

  2. Involving employees in the process increases their commitment and their willingness to identify with the organisation.

  3. The 17 steps aim at completeness; identity can also be defined in fewer steps, in line with the organisation’s needs and intentions.

  4. Defining the vision, mission and values is the minimum of organisational identity, and they are to be defined in this order.
