The value-creating main process

The model of the value-creating main process contains all the steps that need to be taken from the idea to its realisation, to the creation of the result.

The concept in brief

  1. When processes are classified by scope, the main process is the largest unit; it is broken down into sub-processes (the stages of the model) and activities.

  2. In the classification by scope, a main process is whatever we decide to treat as a main process; every leader decides this taking the particular features of the organisation into account.

  3. The return on the value-creating main process is measured in its own right.

  4. The value-creating main process and its planning always start with an idea or an opportunity and end with the achievement of the expected, predefined result.

  5. Value is always created at the customer’s end: it is the customer who decides what the value of a result is for them.
